The Garden Club Council of Fort Worth’s annual Flowercade will be presented at the Deborah Beggs Moncrief Garden Center at the Botanic Gardens Center, 3220 Botanic Garden Drive, Fort Worth. This year’s theme is titled “Circus Fun Fair (Lion, Tigers and Bears, Oh My!)"
The flower show is open to the public for viewing at no charge on Saturday, April 7, 12-6 p.m. through Sunday, April 8, 1-5 p.m. Market Day, with opportunities to purchase plants, rose bushes and gardening-related items, will be held on Saturday.
The standard flower show is guaranteed to generate fun for both Garden Clubs and the public! Garden Club designers will create floral arrangements inspired by divisions titled “Unchained Beast”, “Popcorn, Peanuts and Cotton Candy”, “Clown Cars” and “Circus Magic”.
The show will also include horticulture exhibits of plants grown successfully by participants and offers the opportunity to view new varieties of horticulture specimens. Guests may evaluate plants to add to their own collection.
According to Donna Womack, President of the Garden Club Council of Fort Worth, there will be a significant display of annuals, perennials, bulbs, roses, and tubers in addition to container grown plants by the 33 member clubs.
The Fort Worth Iris Society, which promotes the growing and exhibition of Irises, is staging their flower show in conjunction with Flowercade. The irises will provide a kaleidoscope of color in the horticulture division. The Fort Worth Rose Society will also be staging their flower show and will contribute lovely scents and sights.
With a flower show comes the thrill of an award for artistic achievement or recognition for growing something fine and beautiful. The Garden Club Council of Fort Worth invites you to attend flowercade to get ideas and share the pleasure of gardening.
