School Programs

Program Information

  • $5 per student (min of $90 fee per time slot).

  • Programs are 50 minutes long. 

  • Scheduled program times are 10:00 am and 11:00 am.

After booking your field trip, a confirmation packet will be emailed to you within one week. Please review it carefully. 

Plant a Seed K-2nd Grade

Follow the steps of the growth process from seed to flower to fruit. Learn the parts and patterns of a plant. Explore the Backyard Vegetable Garden, and each child plants a mini garden!

All About Terrariums 3rd-5th Grade

Observe a habitat at your fingertips! Visit one of our greenhouses and explore an ecosystem. As a group, create a terrarium with living and non-living elements and take it back to the classroom to observe and evaluate. 

TEKS 3rd: 3C, 7A, 9A, 10A-C 4th: 7A, 8B, 9A, 10A, 10B 5th: 7A, 9A-B, 9D, 10B

Biodiversity and Adaptations 5th-8th Grade

Using the 5E model, explore three ecosystems: tropical, temperate, and desert. Learn about their abiotic factors and see plant adaptations to each habitat. Bring your science journals.

Walk About Talk About

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden, is the oldest Botanic Garden in Texas. It is the ultimate destination for self-guided field trips. Explore ponds, creeks, wooded acres, meadows, and 21 specialty gardens (does not include access to the Conservatory or Japanese Garden). Try our physical fitness objectives designed for various age groups. Come join us for a great learning experience that's TEKS compliant. You'll discover a world of beauty and nature in our outdoor classroom.

Use the activities in our Walk About Talk About to tailor a field trip to your needs. Each tour has a lessons for interpreting different areas in the Garden.
