The Trial Garden consists of a gazebo encircled by raised flower beds bursting with a variety of perennials. As its name suggests, this garden was established in the 1960's to test the performance of perennials in the climate of north central Texas. Originally, seed companies and rose growers from across the nation provided new plant varieties for testing in the full Texas sun. We continue testing varieties of perennials in the Trial Garden.
Public Trial Garden tours are presented by the Tarrant County Master Gardeners on the second Thursday of every month. Tours start at 9:00 am. No registration required. Regular admission rates do apply.
